The winning images of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year have been announced. The contest received over 8,000 images from 60 countries.
Open to professional and amateur, old and young, the awards celebrate the very best in food photography and film from around the world.
The competition was founded by Caroline Kenyon in 2011. Having worked for over twenty years commissioning food photography, she wanted to celebrate the best in food photography from around the world and find a way to bring recognition to the beautiful work she saw.
The contest offers a wide range of categories. Some of those included are Food bloggers, Food for Celebration, Food for Sale, and Production Paradise Food off the Press. There is also a youth category as well as three categories devoted to Wine: people, places, produce. You can check out the full list here.
“The categories cover the full cultural range of the depiction of food in society – there is something for everyone,” the website states. “From styled food for magazines to images of families eating together in celebration of religious festivals, from depictions of the realities of food production to food growing in its natural setting.”
The winners were invited to a Champagne reception in London and their work will be displayed at a exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London, before traveling to different venues across the UK and Europe.
